MATCHES 07/12

Next sunday we have 2 home fixtures.We are playing melbourne at 1 and thornbury at 2.We intend putting out a team for each match.If you are not at training on wednesday please let me or trish now if you are available for next sunday.Please meet at the club at 11.45.Please come ready changed . Even though we are putting out 2 teams we would like everyone to be there to support each other for these 2 matches. Please keep checking the website incase the weather is bad and we have to change the venue for next sunday.

COUNTY 30/11

Today we played a traingular with hertfordshire. On the day we mixed the girls on both the blue and yellow teams and some of you played out of position. Though we lost both games to a strong hertfordshire team everyone gave 100% and did not give up. As we have said before it is not the result that we are looking for but the performance. Playing teams like hertfordshire gives us chance to see how we are progressing and a chance to play someone new.Thanks to tricia for organising the food and pitches and to steve for being our ref today.

County Match 30/11

Dont forget next sunday is the county match against hertfordshire at worcester. Please meet at the club by the indoor training area at 11.45. There should not be a problem with changing rooms but please come ready changed just in case. Please let trish or me know if you are not available. Please remember to wear your county hoodies if you have one.First match kick off 1.15. Dont forget there is no training this wednesday 26/11.

Training/Tour

Dont forget next sunday there is no fixture and we are training 11-1. There is a lot mini junior matches on next sunday so we will now be training indoors. Due to a fixture at worcester on wednesday 26th there will be no training that evening. We will soon need to think about the u/15s tour. So this week at training we will need to know if you are interested in going on tour so we can sort out numbers and how many nights we are going away for.

BURFIELD MATCH REPORT

Today we played burfield away. Having already played them a few weeks ago we knew this would be no easy game.Burfield started very strongly and worcester never saw the ball for the first 5 minutes and burfield soon scored to make it 5-0 to burfield.Worcester then started to play and slowly got back into the game with a try from ashley after about 20 minutes which was converted by katie. From the restart burfield attacked and the last 5 minutes of the first half worcester had to defend against a very determined burfield and the ball was held up over the worcester line 3 times.HT 7-5 to worcester.The second half saw worcester step up a gear and it was all worcester against a tiring opposition. The ball was now being moved across the backs and stretching the opposition . There were 4 more trys in the second half for worcester katie 2 aimie 2 against 1 for burfield.Katies 1 try coming from where she caught the opposition line out ball and burst through to score.Final score burfield 10 worcester 27. Overall we stepped up gear to the last time we played burfield but it could still be better. In the game there were glimpes of what we know you are capable off. There were some good periods of play but we must start stronger and play as a whole team for the whole 50 minutes and not just the last 25 as there are teams out there that will punish us if we do not.Thanks to all the parents who drove today as without you these away fixtures can not take place.

BURFIELD NEXT SUNDAY

Next sunday we are playing burfield away. Please meet at worcester at 11 .For those going straight there please be at lichfield WS14 9JE for 12.15 kick off is at 1.30 . The u/18s are playing at 2.30 and there is also a county match taking place as well if anyone would like to stop and support the u/18s or watch the county match. Can all players please arrive ready changed . There will be changing facilities available after the game.

COUNTY TRAINING SUNDAY

Just a reminder that county training this sunday is at Greyhounds Hereford City Sports Club Grandstand Road HR4 9NG. Due to horse racing taking place on sunday training has been moved forward and will be 9.30 to 11.30. Our next county day on 30th novenber will now be a fixture against Hertfordshire. As long as there is enough numbers we intend to put out 2 teams on the day for this fixture.

MELBOURNE MATCH

Today we played melbourne at chelleston school. Worcester started strongly but melbourne were soon back into the game. The lead changed hands 4 times in a very close and hard game. With 5 minutes to go melbourne were in the lead 26-20.In the last 5 minutes worcesters tackling and concentration let them down and melbourne scored 3 trys to win the game 45-20. The final score did not reflect the game.The try scorers for worcester were tash x2 libbyand hettie. As we said after last weeks win it was the team and individual performance that we are looking for more than the result.There are some areas to put right which will discuss on wednesday but as a team we can not rely on just a few players to make all the tackles and we must concentrate all the way to the final whistle. Thanks to all the parents who drove today as with out you these away matches can not take place.
